Using Press Releases In Conjunction with PPC.
Creating a buzz on the Internet is easier than you might think. Using a reputable news distribution service can increase traffic, brand awareness, as well as drive traffic to your site.
Recently when developing an advertising plan for a new product site, we decided to spend a large portion of our budget on professionally written press releases and distribution.
We timed the news to coincide with our popular sales times so that we would use the media momentum to increase sales. The result was a 30% increase in traffic and a 20% increase in sales. These numbers show us that the traffic generated from these leads was more valuable with two out of three visitors purchasing the product. The product was a high-tech air purifier, so we targeted three industries with our PR campaigntechnology, air quality, and homeowner retail industries.
We also included all of these press releases in the resources section of the product website, as well as a news feed featuring daily updates of news in these three industries. We then created PPC campaigns that targeted people doing research on the technology and pointed them to these landing pages. We added a bookmark this page link, to increase return traffic and establish our website as a legitimate source of information on the subject.
But be careful, our client sold out of their stock faster than they expected so we had to setup a pre-order waiting list until they could build more units. Nice problem to have
